Freedom Square
Let's start our virtual tour from the main square of the city - Freedom Square (Svobody Square). It impresses with its size, being the sixth in Europe in size and twelfth in the world: almost 14 hectares! The area (without exaggeration) holds population of a whole city of medium size. In 2008 “Queen” group concert got together (according to various estimates) from 150 to 350 thousand people! All major events, concerts, mass festivals, fairs take place here. Freedom Square was built in the 20th century, when Kharkov was declared the capital of Ukraine. From the main square of the city the quarters are divided by concentric rings, so it is interesting to look at it from above. For example, from the monumental building of Gosprom.
