Victory monument, often referred as "Mirror Stream" or "Crystal Stream" is modern business card of Kharkiv city. Laced alcove is recognizable, although it’s not unique: the same alcove is located in Russian Kislovodsk and it is called "Altanka" there. There is even a legend that the alcove was erected by Kharkov official for his lover in memory of his vacation in Kislovodsk. "Crystal Stream" was reconstructed by 60th anniversary. House of State Industry on Freedom Square is real Kharkov giant and it is worth a separate story. It is an architectural monument included in the preliminary list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a symbol of constructivism. Its height is 63 meters, and together with the spire-tower - 108 meters. The building has 4,500 windows, 2 thousand doors, 34 stairs. No wonder that Kharkiv people wrote a legend about the ghost of an official who allegedly roams the secret passages of Gosprom searching the canteen.

In the very center of Kharkov, on Constitution Square, we see another monumental building – Spired House. This is huge house-quarter, sample of Stalin's Empire style. He fantastically combines elements of baroque, late classicism, Napoleonic empire and even art deco. It looks pompous and impressive, especially in the evening when the house is highlighted. There are 7 floors in main part of the building, and 11 in Spired tower. The house is monument of architecture of Stalin era.

Assumption Cathedral
Assumption Cathedral stands on the bank of Lopan River. Its bell tower is clearly visible from riverwalk. Cathedral was erected in 17th century, but it was rebuilt many times. The late Baroque church, which we see now, was built in 18th century. Slender Alexandrovskaya bell tower is younger: it was erected in 19th century. For a long time it remained the tallest building in Kharkov, its height is 89.5 m. Today it is the second tallest bell tower in Ukraine.

Intercession Cathedral
Cathedral of the Holy Intercession Monastery is triple-domed temple in baroque style. In this building everything breathes the harmony, lightness and purity. The domes of the church proudly ascend, and it seems to soar above the earth. The cathedral is a monument of Ukrainian architecture of 17th century.
